Join me for an interactive and fall-inspired candlemaking experience at The Merchantile of Scottsdale! We'll explore the benefits of paraffin-free soy wax, talk about candle care, then dive into the properties of fragrance and essential oils to create a custom scent blend before mixing and hand-pouring your candle! We'll have lots of yummy autumnal fragrances to choose from.
Included in this workshop:
- Ingredients: cotton wick, soy wax, fragrance/essential oils
- One 8.5 oz clear glass tumbler and lid
- 1.5 hours of instruction from a seasoned candle-maker
When: Saturday, October 21st from 11:00am to 12:30pm
Where: The Merchantile of Scottsdale, 3965 N Brown Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Please note: You will need to let your candle "cure" (sit still to cool) for at least one hour after it is poured. This is the perfect opportunity to shop locally at nearby stores or grab lunch at one of the many great restaurants in Downtown Scottsdale! Candles may be picked up after one hour or can be picked up from The Merchantile the following day. Due to the medium used (hot wax) we ask that participants be at least 13 years of age.
You will receive a confirmation email which will you be your entry ticket.
Note: Candles and Wax Melts are poured in small batches, so the color may vary slightly from the photo. Frosting also may occur, which happens naturally in soy candles, and there's no sure way of preventing it. Frosting is a white crystallization that forms on the wax, but it will not affect the scent throw or burning of your candle.
Burning Instructions: Trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting. Keep candle free of any loose materials including matches, wick trimmings, and gemstones. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
To prevent fire and serious injury: Burn candle within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Do not burn candle all the way to the bottom of the tin, allow at least 1cm of wax at the bottom then discard or reuse the vessel.
